The Conservatives have pledged more police on the beat and CCTV following a knife point robbery where two teenage boys were robbed of their bikes.
A Conservative spokesperson said: “This awful robbery of two young boys is yet another tragic attack on our residents near one of Harlow’s underpasses.
“Our best wishes go to the boys at what must be an extremely frightening time. The attackers need to face the full force of the law, but we also need a Council that will do far more to stop these horrific events occurring.
“Harlow residents should feel safe when walking around our streets and cycle tracks. That is why we are not only proposing to put more bobbies on the beat, but also to install more CCTV right across the town – including in underpasses.
“The Government recently announced new funding to improve street safety and a Conservative Council in Harlow will deliver just that.”
